Here please find some information about the Italian Betta Show 2019.
The IBS2019 is organized by the AIB (Associazione Italiana Betta), which has organized several Betta shows in the past. The IBS2019 will take place in Pisa from Friday the 28th to Sunday the 30th of March 2019.
Pisa (Italian pronunciation: [ˈpiːza]) is a city in the Tuscany region, capital city of the Province of Pisa, which is known worldwide for its leaning tower. Besides the nice landscapes, the amazing food and the historic universities, Pisa is also known for its historic churches, the high number of medieval corners and various monumental bridges across the river Arno. March 2019 will be an amazing time for visiting the city and attending a lovely betta show judged with the Bettas4all Standard©.
Note: The fish will be judged according to the Bettas4all Standard© by certified Bettas4all judges, without awarding points for the Bettas4all Master Competition.
The show will take place in concomitance with “Animalissima Pisa 2019”, a large “pet” that was born some years ago as a cat exposition. Now Animalissima hosts several stands where hobbyists can find KOIs, a selection of tropical fish, shrimps and other aquatic attractions.

How can I register my fish?
The link to register your fish will be provided before the end of December 2018. Initially we will allow each breeder to register up to 15 fishes. At the same time, we have only 200 total places, and if we realize that several people are interested in participating to the show we might reduce the number of fishes for each breeder to a minimum of 10 fish. In that case fish reduction will be mandatory and will be communicated by the beginning of February 2019.
How much will it cost me to register my fish?
The entrance fee will be asked for 3 euro/fish.
Can I send my fish by post?
Please contact the organizing team to discuss this possibility.
Can you send me back the fish?
Unfortunately not, but you can ask other people attending the show to help you and either bring back or post the fish to you.
Can I sell my fish at the show? Participants can sell their fish at the show. The breeders can decide the minimum price (that will be the starting price for the auctions). If a fish is sold, seventy percent of the income will be given directly to the breeder, while the association will retain thirty percent of the incomes.
How can I reach the congress center?
You can reach the congress center from the main station of Pisa with the bus from line 13, or line 14 (~15 min) or simply walking (~20 min). The congress center is also very close to the main airport. If you land in Pisa you can take line 5 or line 14 and in ~20 min you will be there. In theory you could also walk, because the distances are small (~30 min). If you are coming by car you will need to leave your car in front of the Congress Center, there is parking across the road. The parking is free only on Sunday. For the other days it will cost you around 1,25 euros/h from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Another solution is to leave the car in the parking of the B&B or the hotel
Where can I sleep?
There are several accommodations nearby the conference center. You are free to book a place wherever you want. At the same time, we have agreed special prices with some of the nearby structures (B&B near the Congress Center approximately 20 euros/night including breakfast or a Hotel near the Congress Center standard 30 euros/night and breakfast. Top rooms starting 40 euros/night (breakfast included). For more information about the accommodation contact the organizing team.
Where will I eat?
During lunch there are several places inside or nearby the congress center. We will have a special agreement with the bar in the congress center for a breakfast and a lunch offer. For the nights we have already booked nice restaurants for Friday 29th and Saturday 30th at ~20:30. Keep in mind that Italians eat late (~21:30), so you can eat something small like an “aperitivo” in the afternoon in one of the nice bars of the city. Remember, all places are within walking distance, so it should not be a problem to reach the restaurant.
What if I get bored? Since the convention center is in the central area, all the main commercial and cultural areas of Pisa are easily reachable. Among these: Piazza dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower the Baptistery and the Cimtero Monumentale, Ponte di Mezzo, Piazza delle Vettovaglie, the Lungarni with the Church of Spina, Corso Italia, the Istituto Normale Superiore with the Piazza dei Cavalieri etc.
What if I have questions?
